Common Uses
Peppermint contains a high amount of menthol, which causes topical cooling. It is excellent for improving the appearance of reddened skin and providing a relaxing mental experience. Added to a massage blend, peppermint is great for soothing. Diffuse or apply topically in 2-10% dilution.
Fun Fact
Peppermint is a natural hybrid of watermint and spearmint, first formally described by Carl Linnaeus in 1753. Its oil is remarkably concentrated – it takes roughly a pound of peppermint leaves to distill just a few milliliters of essential oil.
