Common Uses
Thyme is commonly used in the same places as Oregano and complements Oregano’s power. It cleanses the skin, can stimulate the nerves, and is very warming. Thyme is still very potent and should be used in extreme dilution. Diffuse in very small amounts or apply topically in max 2% dilution (18 drops of oil to a 30ml bottle of a carrier oil).
Fun Fact
Thyme has been used in ancient herbal medicine. The Greeks, Egyptians, and the Romans all found it to be useful. The Greeks and Romans would use it in their temples as an incense, and the Egyptians used it during embalming. During the Middle Ages it was given to Knights for courage and was carried into courtrooms and large areas of gathering to ward off diseases.
